Nuke Me!

Nuclear energy is safe! Radiation leaking from the reactors and into our bodies is safe! We would tell no lies! Coal is bad! Yet coal can be burned efficiently and fairly clean. But radiation is good for you! At what level? Any type of radiation that is shot through your body has the potential to do damage. I'm not saying coal is completely safe, it's just I would trust coal more than being radiated. Japan should be our biggest clue about how unsafe nuclear reactors are. An earthquake or tsunami hits, coal mining will not emit dangerous levels of radiation all over the world. Wind towers won't make the world's population sick. Our choices affect everyone on this planet. Our thinking affects everyone on this planet.

The World Needs Us

Whatever you wish to call it - conscious thinking, prayer, talking out loud or advancing your will. Just the effort of thinking about the world affects change. Positive or Negative. Positive is the best way, even if you think negative about something. Let's say you have a negative situation, the way you choose to think greatly affects it. Changing the way you think and feel is challenging and freeing. You think this is a lot of hooey. Try it a few times. Put a positive spin on a negative situation. See what happens. It might not work every time but what difference does it make. You have change your attitude toward situations you might not have had control over.

Right to Free Speech?

Really? I get upset hearing about the protests at military funerals. Yes, I know you disagree with gays in the military. Yes, you believe that you have every right to voice your opinion about it. At a funeral? Where has your humanity gone? On vacation? Do you realize their family is hurting? They have lost someone they LOVE! How would you feel if your funeral was protested because you were against someone. Imagine your family, in their time of grief putting up with yelling and name calling, because it was their right to do so. Have we lost our compassion, our being human and kind to another? Yes we all have rights. Using them properly and compassionately is the human way to care.
